Sin, Sinners, and the Tour 2008

Eisbrecher are back!

Although frontman Alexx Wesselsky and sound engineer Noel Pix are actually still putting the final touches on the third Eisbrecher record, all signs are again pointing towards an all-out stage assault.  The plans have been made for the "Sünder Tour 2008" [Sinners Tour 2008]!

On August 22, 2008, the third Eisbrecher album "SÜNDE" [Sin] will see the light of day. Until then, the single "Kann denn Liebe Sünde sein" [Can Love be a Sin] (release date: July 11, 2008) will give you a torrid taste of what's to come and leave you begging for more! Alexx and Noel promise their fans a somber medley of dark and rocking ice pearls at the height of summer: Album III will be far and away the hardest and most sinister album by the band in every way – the maxim: Delicately brutal! Hard but heartfelt!

Before they get on the tour bus and head through Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, Eisbrecher will rock a few of the most important festivals in the scene to the ground: Zita Rock in Berlin, RockHarz in Förste, Amphi in Cologne, and M'era Luna in Hildesheim, to name a few.

I. "And it got cold!"

The project Eisbrecher was started on a mild summer evening in 2002 by Alexx Wesselsky (lyrics/vocals) and Noel Pix (composition/keyboards, guitars, programming); both having already been successful before Eisbrecher with the rock group Megaherz not only in the German-speaking world, but also abroad (above all in the USA).

The desire for something new, for hard music without the ordinary metal clichés brought Alexx and Noel back together after all their fights during the Megaherz period. The charismatic, impulsively perverse, 6-foot provocateur Alexx and the sensitive, super-disciplined, charmingly cheeky music genius Noel have taken everything apart and put it back together, they've fought, avoided, and tolerated each other. The result of this process is called Eisbrecher.

Eisbrecher's music is modern, electronic rock:  emotional, honest, and direct! The electronics form the base upon which Alexx and Noel build harder or softer sounds, depending on the theme. The programming is the core of the vision that Eisbrecher have of modern rock: interesting songs, progressively packaged and danceable. Eisbrecher have kept this course even in 2008 with their third disc.

In their lyrics, Eisbrecher go on a journey through individual and interpersonal states of feeling in a world that is growing colder. It's about the me and you as the we in the here and now; it's about what you make of it.

II. "And it will stay cold"

After the club singles "Mein Blut" and "Fanatica" (both 2003) came the successful debut album "Eisbrecher" in January of 2004 (Zyx Music), which has sold approximately 20,000 copies to date worldwide. The daring campaign against the desperate and stigmatizing record company trend of copy protection caused a sensation – two labeled recordable CDs were included with the first edition of the album for making legal private copies. The album track "Schwarze Witwe" became a club staple and continues to please the dancing hearts of both rockers and goths to this day.

In the spring of 2004, Eisbrecher finished their first headlining tour in Germany and Austria, followed by various festival appearances (including the thirteenth "Wave-Gotik-Treffen" in Leipzig, the "Deep Impact Festival" in Munich, "Campus Invasion Uni-Paderborn", and "Biker Festival Schleiz") and a few support shows in 2005 (including "In Extremo" and "Das Ich").

III. "Caught cold-handed!"

Through the live preparations and stage experiences, the two-man project grew into the six-headed rock band Eisbrecher. With the second album "Antikörper" in October 2006, Noel, Alexx, and live keyboarder Max (who has been involved as the third force behind the song writing since 2003) were already paying tribute to the impressions and experiences from the shows: more guitars and power on the one hand and more pop and melody on the other. The dedication was worth it: "Antikörper" jumped to number 85 in the Media Control charts (the official German music charts) in the first week, the tracks "Vergissmeinnicht" and "Leider" became dance floor hits and held on for a long time in the DACs (the German alternative charts), and Eisbrecher went on a successful tour through Germany with the fun rockers from Erlangen JBO.

IV. "Off to new shores!"

The "Antikörper" headliner tour 2007 in Germany and Austria was a complete success.  Even the 2007 festival season was coldly made use of: the six live rockers won audiences over at pertinent festivals such as the fifteenth Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig, the Amphi Festival in Cologne, the Dark Dance Festival in Lahr and the Summer Breeze Open Air in Dinkelsbühl.

The highlight of the 2007 was, however, a show in Russia – without a doubt! In June 2007, Eisbrecher accepted an invitation to play in the legendary Tochka Club in Moscow, where they were met with great enthusiasm. Of course, Eisbrecher will pick up where they left off with the "Sünder Tour" in September 2008. With tried and true structures and a hot new disc in tow, there’s just one thing left to do: Be a sinner! Because this band is one worth sinning for!

In Germany, Eisbrecher is on the rock/metal label AFM Records and is distributed by Soulfood. In the USA and Canada, Eisbrecher's fate rests in the hands of Dancing Ferret Discs (other artists include Witt, Crüxshadows, Corvus Corax, Gothminister, and Subway to Sally). Overseas, "Antikörper" topped the label sales charts for almost two months.

SÜNDE will be released at the end of August 2008.
